Hi, my name is Davis Snyder! Raised in Upstate New York, art has always been an important part of my life. I’m a creative, who makes projects that range from art to design and everything in between.
Bringing inspiration from nature and science, I create colorful and unique art to share my deep fascination with the world around me. I love the feeling of excitement and curiosity. I find joy in challenges where I can grow and learn. My hat is thrown into many rings in the creative field, including fine art, graphic design, photography, and illustration. I strive to blend all of these passions to create fresh, stylized, and refined work to share with others!
Some fun facts about me:
- Gilmore Girls is my comfort show.
- I'm a Star Wars Fan.
- I am in love with the ocean, but horseshoe crabs creep me out sometimes.
- I love long car rides/adventures.
- I’m extremely clumsy, but I am a killer tennis player (it took a lot of practice…)
- Lofi music is my “go-to” for focus.
Artist Statement:
My grandmother on the last day she was outside before she passed said, “What a beautiful cloudy world it is”. And it has always stuck with me over the years, shaping the way in which I view the world. I look around with appreciation and wonder about the nature around us and the things that are often overlooked. I often walk along in life looking at the ground to find little treasures or oddities. I always stop and stay awhile when I feel a moment is precious.
Within my work, I often draw upon moments of my curiosity and excitement with nature to create something that is vibrant and catches a viewer's eye, the same ones I have collected from my experiences. I create my work to visualize my intense fascination, often resulting in abstract forms and bright colors. I observe that nature itself is abstract, indescribable, and hard to understand, just like our own lives. Recognizing this provides me with a sense of comfort. Utilizing a range of mediums from drawing, photography, and other digital media, I invite those who view my work to step into this way of looking at the world with me.
